Sternbergia sicula Arcadian Sun

C.529 Sternbergia sicula Arcadian Sun

Collected in 1966 at 300m in S. Greece by Herbert & Molly Crook. It passed eventually to the late Michael Hoog of Haarlem. Under his care it was increased before being named by his son Antoine.

Narrow dark green leaves (lighter than Dodona Gold) and buttercup-yellow flowers but on much shorter stems.

This is readily grown and increased but the outstanding feature is that it usually has two flowers on each scape, rather than the normal one!

Due to permit costs of approx. £60 per item imposed by the UK Government these are not available for customers in Norway, Switzerland, USA, etc.
