Paper lists
We no longer issue printed, paper lists. The website now shows all of our current availability for our range.
Summer-Autumn selection (starting May each year)
and then, after a change around the New Year, our
Winter-Spring selection (starting around late November each year).
This online listing follows the same pattern used for our now discontinued semi-annual paper lists.
The printed list history:
Printed lists were issued twice each year, in May (Autumn list) and January (Spring list) beginning in 1971.
The plants available in the two lists differed and we issued two printed lists each year to cover our full range. Paper lists were automatically sent to our customers who had ordered recently, by post. Later we also offered catalogues as a free download (once the printed version was actually published).
The online listing :
This is always larger than any printed lists as it is constantly updated with stocks being adjusted in real-time. Sold-out plants are removed from sale straight away and new introductions and harvests are added constantly. Small stocks can now be added without the risk of over-selling something that we only have a few of, a constant problem with paper lists.
