Anthericum

A small genus of the Liliaceae, or the Asphodelacaeae if you prefer. They have thin, grassy leaves and make very slender growths and flowers spikes. These carry small but beautiful ‘lily’ flowers, in abundance, on slender wiry stems in the summer.

The European species are all white and are all inhabitants of mountain meadows and uplands. There is one, yellow, American species.

None of these have proven difficult here, they are all grown in a well-drained, humus enriched garden soil in full sun.
