Description
(formerly Leucojum autumnale)
A super little hardy, autumn-flowering bulb from Spain and Portugal which makes masses of miniature, pink-tinged, hanging white bells from August to October over thread-like leaves.
It makes a splendid early-autumn display in almost any sunny but well-drained soil suitable for bulb growing. It is easily pleased, difficult to kill in the correct conditions and it is a good one to start with.
This can make good increase and, with feeding, it will soon develop into a nice clump.
Our old stock offered up until 2016 was an old horticultural plant which has been doing the rounds for a good 60 years or more. It was true to name, but of undocumented origins. Since 2017 we have propagated and offered plants from a Henning Christensen collection (HC.3372). This was first found in Portugal at Loures, North of Lisbon in 1983 and we now offer this under that collection number. This is a vegetatively increased stock.
