Description
A new Anemone blanda cultivar, the first for some years. This was raised by Antoine Hoog as a seedling from the very dark blue-flowered A. blanda Ingramii CEH.626 which we found in 1982.
The exterior of the flower is indeed deep blue, much the same shade as Ingramii however it is the white interior that attracts one’s attention. The very centre of the interior has a touch less “show-though” of blue and appears to glisten even more than the rest of the white face. It is quite a little gem, brightening up the January garden on a sunny day when the sunshine catches the white and gives just a glint of Spring.
Antoine and I coined the name one day in January, when despite being hundreds of miles apart, we had shared the same foggy weather for some days and the name seemed most apt for this little plant, shining through the lifting mist.
First offered September 2013.
