Description
A lovely form of the creeping ‘Wood Anemone’ with an attractive single flower in a shade of a nice pale- to mid-blue. New to ourselves in 2008, but known to Bowles, so presumably an old cultivar.
There is a disparity between our stock, which we were assured when we got them are true and some shown on the internet, which show and describe a darker plant with more of a purple tinge. Bowles however mentions a “Forget-me-not” blue, which is, to my mind a pale, pure blue and he stresses the pure shade of the blue, without purple.
Although it still possesses some purple, this has a smaller complement of these darker, red-biased pigments in the flower and though paler it is of a much purer blue colour than many clones.
