Description
Dark polished purple buds open to a flower which is perhaps a touch paler in colour than Allenii but darker than Robinsoniana.
In size it also falls between the two, it is larger than Allenii, but smaller than Robinsoniana (which is a noticeably large clone). Bowles Purple can always be distinguished by the purple exterior becoming even more purple and concentrated towards the basal end and its more deeply coloured flowers which always present a very neat, tidy and symmetrical appearance. A lovely addition to our range of forms.
This has deep green foliage with a purple overtone to it, early in the season and sometimes a thin purple line at the edges of the leaf tips.
