Description
This is a new cultivar for us but one with a very even colouring in a good shade of bright, mid-blue, the blue is nicely contrasted with a sulphur-yellow anther boss. There are now many blue cultivars of Anemone nemorosa of course, however this one stands out for its excellent, even colouring, its nicely symmetrical flower and, in established plants, for its 8-petalled blossoms with broad overlapping, diamond-shaped petals.
A very lovely form introduced some years back, from Ireland and it is presumed to have come from Lismore, in County Waterford, but I am not aware of its exact history or origins.
Introduced to our lists October 2024.
