Description

This is a new cultivar in which the flowers open a very pale pink, but then within a day or two they darken from the centre of the petal outwards. The flowers do however shade pink at the edge. The colouring darkens towards the petal base, but then stops, quite abruptly, at the base of the petals giving the impression of white eye to the flower.

A very lovely new form introduced some years back, from enthusiast and friend, Eduard Hanslik in the Czech Republic where it was originally found in the wild, many years before he sent it to us. We have grown on the initial small exchange sample until the clump has become big enough to offer some. It does incidentally pair superbly well with Erythronium Pink Beauty which has the same pink colouring and which overlaps in flowering time too.

Introduced to our lists April 2024.
