Description
This has a backdrop of broad, overlapping, deep green bracts above which sits a wispy whorl of styles in which the anthers, but not the filaments which carry them, have been converted to yellow-green and white petals.
There is a slight sideways twist to the whorl and this indeed looks like a hurricane or whirlygig. The tightly packed filaments form a central yellowish button at the base.
Very attractive and totally different to any other form.
