Description
A strong growing form of the species with larger tubers and serrated leaves divided into seven leaflets rather than the usual five.
This is, in effect a large and strong-growing form though it may overlap in size with exceptional specimens of the ordinary form in cultivation.
Big strong spathes of black-purple, striped with white but contrasted around the edge with dark purple, sitting around a purple spadix, shaded with some white and ending in a slightly club-shaped, white tip. This has some superficial resemblance to the Japanese species Arisaema sikokianum but the two should never be confused.
Garden soil enriched with humus, good drainage and half shade, is perfection – standard Arisaema conditions in fact!
