Description
(this may also be seen as Arisaema purpureogaleatum)
Easy of growth with lovely pink to bown & white tubers in the manner of candidissimum (to which it is clearly related) but with gorgeous rich red-brown to caramel-brown, and white, helmet-like, inflated spathes, the tips of which are drawn out and held horizontally or deflexed.
This is an easy and reliable, June-flowering, species for the garden. Originally found in Yunnan, Gaoligong mountains, at 3,600m, fully hardy with us and a good garden plant in a moisture retentive, well drained soil in half shade. This is desirable, but not essential, as this is a very tolerant plant.
