Description
A strong-growing species with a great, long, tubular spathe which tones from warm orange brown at the base to emerald green at the top, striped white along its length. At the top, the spathe turns over into a cobra-like hood.
This is a very attractive and spectacular plant and one of the most distinctive of the Himalayan species.
It can be prone to bruising during transport and we suggest planting it with a good dusting of flowers of sulphur (or your preferred fungicide) to aid establishment in its first season. After this it is fine and it is only as a precaution anyway.
