Description
Tiny, tidy leaves arranged along the creeping rhizome, these are deep green and thick-textured with the small flowers sitting underneath and close by, at ground level.
The colour of these flowers is dark purple or brown-purple (rarely varying to pale brown), always with the white interior showing through at the mouth where the lobes reflex back against the tube.
A little cutie which is not difficult in a damp, well-drained, leafy soil in part shade, but somewhere where it can be admired. Though hardy, it can also be grown in pots or pans if you want a miniature foliage and flower subject that can be easily seen or examined.
