Description
This has bright and vivid blue flowers with just enough turquoise in the shade to make it one of the most stunning and eye-catching of all blue-flowered plants. The sheer intensity of the colour marks it out as very special.
Each flower is a small, tubular bell, held in a loose spike on a stem which varies from 15-20 cm tall here.
Happy under garden conditions, especially if some humus matter can be worked into the soil, and extra moisture provided in spring. The latter may simulate the conditions in its native upland haunts in Turkey, where it can carpet wet meadows in spring as the snows melt.
Plant 3-5 cm deep.
