Description
This is the third species of a subgroup that includes appendiculata and californica. Compared to these two spp, it has thicker corm fibres, narrower petals, 4-7 mm. wide and no filament appendages. Despite being a tetraploid species (which usually makes for an increase in size), it is actually half the height of B.californica.
This plant is restricted to the northern Coast Ranges of California, where it normally grows in mixed deciduous forest and light woodlands.
