Description
A new introduction and a rare Japanese species with broad, pleated, green leaves and a spike of slightly nodding, near-white to pastel violet flowers, which have a paler, or even white, lip. Flowers are borne in long dense spikes with the leaves and are very lovely.
Growth is as for the commoner species although this plant may like a little more shelter, or even growth under glass, to give its best in colder climates, though it has overwintered outside here in -17°C.
