Description
(syn. cordatum glehnii)
In this Japanese form the tubular flowers have an intriguing white colour which tends towards a green-cream on the exterior. The throat has red markings. The flower is less zygomorphic and more tubular in structure than other Cardiocrinum. An attractive colour form with a differently shaped, flower! This species is strongly fragrant.
This species naturally makes smaller bulbs than Cardiocrinum giganteum at the same age but it is still a very good grower which likes the same light, leafy “woodsy” kind of conditions.
Humus enriched soil with good drainage in half shade is best, with good feeding to make size.
