Description
A very attractive form of the species with large leaves and especially large flowers from July onwards. It is the earliest flowering of the Colchicum autumnale types and is one of our earliest Colchicum, full stop!
This form is so large and floriferous that it was originally believed to be Colchicum bivonae, but has been identified as Colchicum autumnale by Colchicum expert, Karin Persson from Gotenburg Botanic Gardens.
Cultivated material, originally from Greece, Pindus Mountains, Katara Pass, at over 1500 m.
