Description
A rare Turkish endemic. Three to four thin leaves are made, with the flowers, in January. The flowers are slender and starry, and of a lovely pale pink which, unusually for the genus, intensifies in the throat. The filaments are pink, with golden anthers.
A perfect miniature, for alpine house or frame. Fully cold-hardy but best appreciated close to. Known since 1958 but named only in 1999, ours are propagated from the type collection, so are totally authentic.
It makes a curious, elongated bulb, not huge (it is one of the smallest in the genus after all!).
