Description
Stunningly beautiful conical flowers at the start of autumn. This is the most strongly chequered Colchicum.
It is one parent of Colchicum agrippinum, the other being the totally plain Colchicum autumnale, so you can guess that variegatum is twice as chequered. Since the hybrid is also smaller than C. autumnale, it might also lead you to believe that C. variegatum is quite a small plant and this is the case, it also naturally makes only small bulbs.
