Description
This species occurs in a few parts of the S.E. United States, elsewhere the introduced Convallaria majalis grows. Unfortunately confusion between the two has muddied the identity of montana which is an excellent plant.
It is larger in all of its parts than Convallaria majalis and it does not have the, sometimes aggressive, spreading habit of that plant. Spikes of pure white scented flowers are borne in May, above plain green leaves.
