Description
Though we have continued our naming of Corydalis clones after birds with this new introduction it is NOT strictly speaking a solida form. Instead it represents a brand new departure (as well as a brand new colour pattern), as this is a hybrid Corydalis with its parentage consisting of an intense deep red Corydalis solida crossed with the vigorous and easy C. malkensis.
The flowers are very large, larger than either of the parents and they are borne in good-sized spikes with nicely spaced blooms, making a superb display. The front of each flower is rich, raspberry-red and the spur which is whitish initially, becomes pinkish later. The colouring and colour pattern is unique. A remarkable new plant, never before released and this is a very good one indeed.

Introduced to our list and to cultivation in September 2019.
