Description
A very lovely and much sought after plant of the central Asian grouping. This glorious species hails from Tadjikistan.
Delicate-looking, but tough, feathery foliage of ash-grey floats just above the ground, making a perfect backdrop for the large flowers of mid to deep yellow. With age these take on a darker, almost orange-red colouration.
This really is one of those plants that enthusiasts talk of only in superlatives and it deserves every bit of praise.
Pan cultivation is perhaps best, although it is fully cold hardy and will take to bulb frame or perhaps even raised bed culture. Either way, good light and a well-drained loam-based soil with summer dryness is all that is required.
