Description
Very ornamental, blue-green leaves, below a compacted spike of individually large flowers of white or pale primrose with a well-contrasted, darker yellow mouth. The plant is a little variable in the depth of its yellow colourings but the colour scheme holds for most. With maturity some plants develop a superb cherry red infusion or colouring near the mouth.
A lovely little plant – my prose does it insufficient justice. As with most of the central Asian, dry land species a pot or bulb frame gives the best result but this is not a difficult plant, simply a rare one.
