Description
One of the most garden-worthy species with good-sized flowers displaying an attractive contrast between the black and white as the upper portion of each bloom is white, whilst the lower is near black. The combination has aptly been called ‘coffee and cream’. The flowers are produced freely on a long, well-packed spike.
Happy out in the garden, in a sunny well drained spot with some humus worked into the soil. Fully hardy here and in colder gardens that we know of.
Central Asia.
