Description

It is usual (though not invariable) in Corydalis that the spur is paler than the face of the flower. Honeycreeper however is the reverse of this  and the face of the flowers is paler and brighter than the spur.

The face is a very pale, slightly pink-infused shade of white whilst the spur is strongly coloured and the pink-red is itself infused with a hint of violet (which is particularly strong in the form of a central stripe. Seedlings raised from this, with a view to intensifying the contrast even further, have not actually given a better plant and though a little smaller than other solida clones, Honeycreeper has a densely packed raceme with just as many flowers in it.

Pot or pan under alpine glass, bulb frame or a garden spot, in light or partial shade and fully hardy here.

First released and named by us (and thus new to our lists) in August 2017.
