Description
This represents what was originally a unique find among thousands of vittae seedlings raised over many years by Dr. Arnis Seisums.
When first noticed, over 18 years ago, this was selected for its giant habit and substantially larger flowers. Subsequently it was noted that the giant features were accompanied by a strong tendency to produce 2-4 stems from each tuber. Not only is it a giant compared to ordinary vittae, but with a height of 25cm is the tallest of the section and rivals the largest of all tuberous Corydalis in its flower size.
The stock is vegetatively propagated from the single, original tuber, a true clone. This is thought not to be hybrid but is, most likely, a polyploid mutation of vittae. Nothing similar has been found since.
