Description
This is the correctly named plant and not C. malkensis which is often passed off as C. vittae. The two are different species though the cheaper and more easily produced malkensis is still all too frequently encountered when vittae is ordered.
True vittae has densely packed flowers that open greenish-white and mature to pure snow-white. It is very floriferous and flowers on quite short stems, so that it makes a really “packed”, floral display. Flowering is later than in most Corydalis species and thus this lasts longer than any of our other species lasting until May in 2021.
A very worthwhile garden species, not needing any special treatments and happy in humus-enriched soil in part shade.
