Description

A long cultivated historical autumn Crocus clone mentioned by E. A. Bowles and around for a hundred years or more, this was originally selected for its deep purple colouration and good nature.

Although the naming of these Spanish and African purple species has changed, this clone is offered under the old name (and we do know that this is an incorrect one) to preserve its interest, especially since it has been absent from our lists for many years. This is authentic material traceable to a very old Dutch derived stock.
