Description
Superb, sky-blue to turquoise flowers in January. Hardy and very lovely it does very well outside in a cool to cold, well-drained spot.
This is naturally a plant of cold, snow-covered areas and it is best not ‘cherished’, or ‘looked after’ in a pot under glass. It needs the combination of a long cold winter rest with a sudden warming lots of water and bright sunshine and warmth in late spring, to give its best. Under glass and even in warm gardens, it is inclined to elongate prematurely and then it pays the price if the weather turns inclement.
Despite a few perceived foibles this is without doubt the bluest and most superbly coloured Crocus that there is.
