Description

Crocus kotschyanus is a familiar, garden-centre type of Crocus and many hundreds of thousands of the massively impressive, Dutch-raised corms must be sold each year. That form is genetically damaged and doesn’t ever flower, though others, such as “Reliance” or our forms grown under collectors; numbers do so very well and they are worth seeking out.

From time to time you may also see white forms advertised, though these are not always, in our experience, pure white. The form offered here IS pure white with superb, contrasting, yellow-orange spots in the throat.  In the right site this increases well by splitting and by the production of small offsets. Seedlings  however are NOT true to colour. A good garden Crocus and one of the earliest of the easy garden species.
