Description
A superb, bunch-flowered form with pale lilac-purple petals contrasting with a deep purple throat and very strong and very prominent, rich-red styles. The anthers are filiform and white, and this appears to be a permanent condition.
This clone is seed-raised from seed of C. mathewi Dream Dancer (which is definitely NOT sterile, as has been suggested, though seed set is not high). The selected plant was subsequently cloned so that this is a true and even stock, there is of course the possibility that the bees were somehow involved in the initial seed production, as this has some of the characteristics of C. cartwrightianus, though I stress that IF this is hybrid, no parentage is confirmed.
Strong growing with gorgeous, large flowers and making a superb display, quite late in the autumn Crocus season, in mid-October.
