Description
Some populations of Crocus niveus contain plants infused with a lovely light blue-lilac. These retain all of the other desirable features of niveus; large, strong flowers and a superb gold throat, but add a colour variation as well. Variable from white to palest blue. The colour is more usually visible on the outer three petals.
This population has been raised, in cultivation, through several generations from the original Manfred Koenen, 1985 collection. It has a tendancy to pale blue but please be warned that the colour is subtle and the colour of the stock runs from palest blue to pure white, we do not have any selected colour forms.
