(Crocus serotinus salzmannii Malaga)
This is a seed-raised horticultural stock raised from 3 corms of a population which I originally found in 2019 at the base of a limestone Massif near Villanueva de Cauche in Malaga province, Spain at 950m. This is our so called “Low” strain, we also have one coming along from the top of the same mountain (imaginatively called “High”) which are proving much slower to increase. “Low” is a good do-er with the very characteristic soft, silky tunic of the species.
Lovely lilac-violet flowers of a good size in Autumn, making a good display and both growing and increasing nicely here.
