Description
(syn. Crocus pallasii turcicus)
Originally collected by Vladimir Vasak as Crocus pallasii turcicus in Turkey and received in 1996. Alas Vladimir died before we could discuss the details of where, precisely, he found this.
It is distinguished from the type by a long, persistent ‘neck’ of old leaf bases. The flowers are a lovely bright light violet marked and feathered with fine purplish lines around a divided, saffron-fragrant style.
Easily grown in the garden in a sunny spot.
