Description
A fabulous garden plant from the mountains of Southern Turkey. In the depths of late winter this bears masses of vibrant rosy-purple flowers, which have the nose picked out in a deeper shade of violet. These are set above well-marked, silver-zoned leaves. As a bonus, the flowers have a lovely, sweet, light, violet scent which is quite evident when the day is warm and the wind is low.
Hardy here over many years and a very lovely garden plant. Easy in in a well drained, humus rich soil, preferably in light shade. This is, justifiably, one of our most popular species.
