Description
This little seen species makes tight clumps by means of its slightly spreading rhizomes and, in April and May, stems which reach from 12 cm to about 30 cm tall.
The arching stems carry elliptic leaves and a cluster of 1 cm white to very pale yellow, petticoat-flowers in summer, each bloom contrasted with blood-red anthers (which open to ochre coloured pollen) and then followed by shiny, purple berries in autumn. Leafy soil, light shade and easy.
