Description
This has bright and vivid, starry yellow flowers with a very strong lemony scent which is evident from many metres away. The flowers are born on short stems in October and November, later than in the related plicatum and in less of a flush, making this a very valuable species. Lovely flowers but the scent is on a par with the best in the bulb world.
Native to a limited area of S. Africa. Cultivation is in a well drained, loam based soil, dry when dormant. Feeding is beneficial if you want lots of flowers and larger specimens of the naturally tiny corms.
