Description
When this emerges, and at flowering time, this has beautiful, strongly bronzed foliage, which later fades to a nice even green with a bronze sheen.
The blooms are held above in well-carried spikes of large, yellow horizontal flowers. The poise of the flowers is to the side, and they are shown off very well, especially in contrast to the richly coloured foliage. Unlike many of the related yellow garden hybrids the flowers are backed with true yellow, rather than green or white shades. The blooms have a very noticeable red ring in the throat which shows beautifully if seen with back-light. The most distinct of the tuolumnense hybrids and one of my personal favourites.
Garden soil, sun or shade with humus and good drainage, but then it is best left to establish.
