Description
This geographical form holds a cluster of open-faced white flowers, each with a green centre and deeply impressed greenish nectaries, at the top of its annual growth. Several flowers per plant are held above attractive foliage, on 20 cm stems, very early in the season.
Beautiful and tough – the species starts in mid to late March most years, outside and unprotected though April is more typical. We have ours in south-facing raised beds of well-drained, loam-based compost.
