Description
For a long time the name was confused both with Fritillaria hermonis amana and Fritillaria acmopetala, but slowly the identity and delights of this lovely dwarf scree-living species are becoming known.
Stems seldom over 15 cm are clothed with narrow, silvery grey leaves below a solitary, egg-shaped bloom of jade green which is chequered all over with deep chestnut brown, especially towards the mouth.
Good drainage in a fertile sunny spot. Hardy but can be potted to enjoy under alpine house glass.
Stock raised from a collection originally made by T.Baytop above Denizli, Honaz Dag, Turkey at 1750 m.
