Description

Slender, elegant plants with one or two beautiful, vivid buttercup-yellow flowers early in April. The three outer petals of each bloom reflex upwards to lend a unique appearance to this rare Turkish endemic which is found in just a few localities, mostly on serpentine rocks, in the south of the country.

A lovely pan plant but happy outside in a well-drained sunny spot. Despite being very rare in the wild, cultivated stocks have done very well and they both flower and increase reliably and this must rank as one of the best and most attainable of the brightly coloured species.
