Habranthus oaxacanus

Description

A species described by Dr. Thad Howard from the deserts of S. Mexico with thread-like leaves and a flower of palest pink or white. We grew this for a while, from Thad’s seed in a very sandy and well-drained compost kept on the dry side, but found it very slow to make size.

In 2010 Flagg, Smith and Meerow (Flagg, R.O., Smith, G.L. & Meerow, A.W. Novon 20: 33-34 (2010) decided that “Measurements, observations, and location clearly indicate to us that Habranthus oaxacanus is the same taxon as Habranthus conzattii“. Accordingly we no longer grow this species.
