Description
(syn. amarylloides toximontanus)
N.W. Cape, deciduous, winter growing, with flowers in late summer in 7-25 cm balls. The blooms, 30-50 of them, are vivid rose-pink, verging on magenta, with contrasting yellow anthers. The leaves are succulent, shiny, edged in red and pressed flat on the ground.
Discovered in 1964 this arid land species grows on sandstone, in patches of humus rich soil.
