Description

This is a virtually unknown species from China. It was described some years ago, but without any mention of the appearance of the flowers or leaves.

Before you think that this is yet another variant of the widespread triloba, it is not, this is very different, with tiny, hairy, scalloped leaves not unlike miniature leaves of transsilvanica. The flower is equally miniature and seldom exceeds 1.5 cm across. Most that have flowered have been white some having the faintest of pink infusion with age.

We obtained our stock in 1997 since when they have done well here in leafy, well-drained soil in half-shade, along with all of our other species and forms.
