Description

Semi-doubled flowers of perfect pink, with the inner, doubled petals being arranged in a series of symmetrical, open whorls, composed of broad segments. The gradation from the outermost whorl of true petals to the innermost whorl (of petalloid anthers) is gradual and smooth, resulting in one of the loveliest of Japanese flowers to my eyes.

Seemingly fertile with the white, pinhead-styles not having mutated, making a button in the centre of the flowers.

I may not be alone in my enthusiasm for this plant, as I believe that the name translates loosely from Japanese as “Perfection”.
