Description
Hepatica Kimon is a gorgeous, soft violet form with a symmetrical disc of round ended, very broad outer petals which overlap nicely. These have a broad, feathered central zone and sit behind a beautifully stacked, inner whorl of smaller petals of similar colouring. The petals of the inner whorl are notable for being arranged in whorls, one on top of another, but these are barely offset from each other so that they all, more or less, line up.
Towards the centre of the flower there is a paler, more softly coloured area where the pigment of the petals have yet to develop fully and this makes a superb counterpoint to the lovely soft colourings of the rest of the flower.
