Description

The flowers are held, more or less stemless, in a dense head, all on a short stem above a pair of hairy-edged leaves. Each individual bell can attain 1 cm long, making this the largest flowered species. The flowers are of a lovely limpid pale, bright blue colouration.

An excellent alpine house plant and a good bulb frame subject, although its dwarf stature may make it unsuitable for all but the most carefully selected garden site, nevertheless it is fully hardy.
