This has broad, polished leaves and a spike of feathery flowers in icing-white with anthers sticking out, like pins in a pin-cushion.
It creeps, making a tight mat of attractive deciduous foliage in light shade. Larger in leaf, flower and rhizome than bifolium, 10-15 cm is normal.
Lovely cultivated rhizomes from a stock first found in Ontario, Canada many years ago.
